Inspired by her daily workout session, Celine and her mentor founded Tempofiit, a program which creates friendship, laughter and sweat on the mat.
What’s your story?
Tempofiit was created by my mentor, Charlotte and I. We were inspired by our daily gym session when we experienced that working out is so fun with encouragement and motivation from each other.
Living in my comfort zone for 21 years, I decided to make a change in my life. Being an overweight child since primary 1, I always wanted to be slim and pretty just like my other friends. As I matured, I was very determined to lose weight. I did my search on ‘Groupon’ for fitness classes and found ‘Lifesparks’.
Being just a student in a Zumba class in 2012, I worked hard to see results. Eventually, I lost 22 kilos within 2 years and became a group fitness instructor with motivation and guidance from my mentor, Charlotte, Founder of Lifesparks Studio.
I am eager to share my experience with my friends and students. Most importantly, inspire more people to move towards healthy living and walk their fitness journey with me.
I stepped up to serve as a community leader in Soul Rich Woman (www.soulrichwoman.com), a platform that helps women like myself to build an online reputation, build unshakable confidence online, get recognition as a leader and be that woman of influence to create a positive impact in the world.
What excites you most about your industry?
The challenges faced in the creation of Tempofiit. As there are so many different types of exercise programs in the world, it is hard to suit everyone’s needs and requirements.
What’s your connection to Asia?
I am a Singaporean! I love travelling around in Asia countries to see how people run their daily business.
Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Thailand, the land of smile. It is a place that emphasizes on courtesy and I feel that it is a point where Singapore businesses could learn from.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Learn from your mistakes.
Who inspires you?
My mentor, Charlotte Mizuki, Founder of Lifesparks Studio, inspired me in the initial stage of my fitness journey. And of course, there are more amazing people who I met along the way in different aspects of my life.
What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
Be patient. Efforts are paid off when you have the patient to see the growth.
If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I would have studied about health, wellness and nutrition in the earlier stage of my life. It is not too late to start now but it would have been better if I had that knowledge to help more people.
How do you unwind?
Listen to music, sing or chill in my room. As most of the time, I am teaching fitness classes, free time is spending more time at home in the most comfortable wear!
Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Australia. It is a slower pace country and I enjoy travelling around in road trips.
