Digital Marketing Consultant, Franziska Grobler, Supports Small Business Owners Across Many Industries To Overcome Their Digital Marketing Related Operational And Strategic Challenges.

What’s your story?
I am a largely South Africanized native German, currently residing in Singapore. I treasure every spare minute with my loved ones, travel as much as possible (or used to, thanks to Covid) and reconnect with nature whenever the opportunity arises via sailing, walking or cycling.

I am an ex-corporate marketing manager and started my own business 4 years ago after moving to Singapore as a trailing spouse with my beautiful family.

My expertise spans across the entire marketing melting pot including: digital advertising, marketing tools & systems, web design, SEO, analytics to name a few.

What excites you most about your industry?
It truly inspires me to hear each and every business owner’s story, ambitions and their journey. It never gets boring. That is also the reason why I don’t limit my services to a particular sector but rather serve across all industries – it broadens my horizon, allows me to learn new things about various industries whilst helping others to simplify, optimise or automate their marketing related challenges.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I moved to Singapore in 2016 with my family. Really enjoyed travelling Asia as much as possible (pre- Covid).

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore! Because I live and work here. Singapore is simply an amazing city with amazing people. It is easy to set up a business in Singapore and there are so many entrepreneurial communities and forums available to for those who want to immerse themselves into a supportive small business ecosystem.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Start before you are ready. Adapt as you go along and most importantly *Wear Sunscreen*(along with all the other wisdom shared in this nineties classic) 😉

Who inspires you?
Those that I surround myself with! Every person in my life inspires me in a different way and for a different reason.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
Sailing – literally 😉

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Sleep more. Procrastinate less? In general I prefer to look forward, not back and I believe that everything happens for a reason.

How do you unwind?
Yoga. Nature Walks. Cycling. Sailing with my loved ones is on top of my list to unwind!

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
I find the most relaxing places are usually outside of the bustling cities – rice terraces, lakes, rain forests, remote islands, beaches you can find them anywhere and everywhere in Asia, like in Bali, Vietnam, Borneo, Thailand, Cambodia…just to name a view.

Everyone in business should read this book:
Well, with 2 kids and my own business my time to read books is rather limited and largely dictated by the library book choices my 5 and 8 year old girls make. There is one book though that stood out, it’s called “Have you filled a bucket today? by Carol McCloud – it has a really powerful message for everyone regardless of age or profession and the good news is it only takes 5 minutes to read ;-).

The other book that stuck with me is 6 Thinking Hats. It was given to me by a previous manager very dear to me. It’s all about recognising, understanding and utilising different thinking methodologies – for yourself and others. This may be helpful for those who find it challenging to listen to others or their (at time opposing) ideas, as well as to those who facilitate a lot in group settings.

Shameless plug for your business:
Do you feel challenged or need support with regards to your digital strategy or any marketing related aspects? I have supported many business owners with customised training, soundboarding and / or outsourced solutions, chances are I can make your life easier too.
