Johnson Chong Runs An 8 Week Course Helping Leaders Who Feel Trapped By Their Identity To Rediscover More Joy and Fulfillment In Their Lives.

What’s your story?
I am an Asian American New Yorker, who lived in Singapore for 6 years and currently based in Sydney, Australia for a year. I coach conscious leaders through their mental and emotional blockages by helping them realign their mind, body and spirit. I have synthesized an accelerated transformation program that happens in the course of 8 weeks online through the integration of yoga, meditation, shamanic journeying, energy work, writing exercises and conscious coaching.

I used to own Sagehouse in Singapore, a studio for yoga, pilates and meditation, but now my work is more in the spiritual, and less in the physical.

What excites you most about your industry?
I love the personal development because it is so relatable in every field. It doesn’t matter what your profession is – if you have not dove in deep to uncover your true potential, and also at the same time to work through your limiting beliefs and fears that hold you back, you will not thrive. I also love watching the change process happen in front of me. I love the moment when someone makes a breakthrough, and their whole life starts to change.

What is your connection to Asia?
I am chinese-american. My parents are refugees from China. And I was born in NYC. I speak Cantonese, and I lived in Singapore for 6 years.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
I love Singapore for business because of its convenience and ease. The structure and getting everything set up from the ground up. There is a lot of financial stability in Singapore and the clients are great to work with. There is a sense of community and loyalty there.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is to only do things that bring me joy and fulfilment, and stop doing the things that don’t – delegate those things instead. So if I ever feel stressed about completing something, like writing a copy for a landing page, or organizing material for marketing a course, I will take time out to pause, and do something else to inspire me, instead of putting all of my energy in trying to complete something that isn’t flowing easily. It also plays hand in hand with the not trading time for money as a concept which is very important as a business owner to understand. So even if that means I spend a few hours “unproductive,” but get a huge boost of inspiration to get everything done in 2 hours, that is what I would rather do. Why waste time worrying about the inspiration tide going out, when eventually it will come back in again.

Who inspires you?
Dr. Alberto Villoldo – he is a medical anthropologist, shaman and one of my teachers I trained with. He is a bridge between science and spirituality, and he has the ability to connect so deeply on a soul level, but also be able to express it in such a well articulated manner – it’s really quite remarkable.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
That every thought, emotion, belief system is measurable through light frequencies in our bioenergetic field. Everything from the limited beliefs to the feelings of inner freedom we have is recorded in the unseen electromagnetic field around us. And it is measurable in frequency. The most harmonic frequencies that are needed to rebalance your mind, body and emotions can be delivered into your cells to rebalance it through microcurrents.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
First off, I don’t believe in this question because I think everything happens for a reason. We need to make the mistakes we have made in order to appreciate how far we have come. But if there was one piece of advice I would have given my younger self it would be to really believe that “I was enough” sooner. I would hear this from my mentors and teachers, but I never embodied it. It kept me operating from a limited perspective of anxiety and fear that I would disappoint myself and others.

How do you unwind?
I practice yoga. I meditate, and I use biotech – like a bioresonance healing device called the Healy that revitalizes my cells to optimal charge and function. I also use a brainwave entrainment device called the Ajna light to rebalance my brain waves.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Bhutan – I lead retreats there yearly, and it’s just so stunning and beautifully peaceful. I love the fresh mountain air, and the monks chanting in the temples echoing across the hills.
