Peter Oreb has over 16 years’ experience in contingent workforce management. Based in Singapore, when not working he loves boating, fishing, hanging out with his wife & young family.

What’s your story?
I was born in Sydney and started at CXC fresh out of University in 2000. Grown through the ranks, I became the Global CEO and a shareholder by 2016. I Co-founded and started several businesses in the financial services space and held a board position at Aftercare an NGO providing Mental Health social services. Married with 3 children under 8, moved to Singapore mid-2018 to focus on expanding the business, already operating in over 30 countries. I have been an active member of the Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO) since 2010 having a passion for learning.

What excites you most about your industry?
The constant change and growth. The rise of the contingent workforce and the future of work are radically changing the way we as workers and businesses are interacting. Allowing companies to engage workers all over the world which continues to breakdown borders and provide the opportunity for people to focus on their passion.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I moved to Singapore in Mid 2018, with already a presence in over 8 countries throughout Asia and being a central place globally to minimise travel time. Our key clients are large Multinationals so, Singapore aligns with their Asia HQ’s.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Singapore. I find people in this city very clever, they are open to listening and implementing new ideas, shorter decision times, also many decision makers located there that have an ASIA regional remit.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
The only constant in life changes, so embrace it.

Who inspires you?
Generally speaking, positive, passionate, successful, people who have achieved a good balance/integration of work and family life.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
Been very intrigued learning the many uses of the blockchain technology, I think it’s going to make such a huge impact for businesses and individuals outside of the uses for the crypto world. Really just scratching the surface. I see very exciting times how this technology will change our lives. We have just embarked on a project internally to build an application on it, would be happy to share the learnings when completed.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Move overseas sooner to experience working and living in different cities, the world is so big, exciting and interesting, it’s invigorating. It is too easy and comfortable to stay local if you have the opportunity to do it, don’t hesitate, go for it.

How do you unwind?
I love spending quality time with the family especially with my kids, moving to Singapore has really helped in keeping me active and my passion for boating and fishing.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Hoi An, Vietnam, lovely breezy beaches, friendly people, fantastic choice of hotels and food.
