With a ‘bloggings’ in food, Sangeeta has been discovered from her writing and now consults on nutritional product development.

What’s your story?
I come from a research background, worked on antioxidants from Cyanobacteria and then had to discontinue my work due to personal issues. Later I started blogging and writing about food, health, nutrition and easy healthy cooking on my blogs. I was writing casually initially, later I got some more time on my hands and I started providing consult on nutritional requirements for individual clients. The work got noticed by the industry and I started getting professional assignments for product development too.
I am a traveler, photographer and gardener by passion and like growing some of my food myself.

What excites you most about your industry?
That my work is creative and I use my skills and knowledge about ingredients and their properties. I love it when I create a new snack or breakfast product and when I get blessings from my clients when their health issues get fixed. It is also important that I can choose the work I like, can work at my own pace and can work from home. Working from home saves me from driving on the roads and adding to the traffic load and pollution in my city.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I am born in India and work for Indian clients mostly. Although I have developed products for the international market too. profile

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
No favourite city with regard to business as yet.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Thrive wherever you are thrown. A friend used this quote to describe me as I am very adaptable. It came as a compliment but I took it as my work principle too. New work opportunities arise when one has a will to thrive.

Who inspires you?
Nature. Nature is my best friend and philosopher. I also get inspiration from many people around me who are doing great work. Especially people working to revive old traditional farming methods; reviving tribal ways of living in communes with forests; and people who travel and tell stories of other people and places.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
Every new bird I spot in the garden and every new herb that I experiment with excites me.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
Nothing much. I take life as it comes, and try and do better in every possible situation. I would definitely try and pamper myself a little better if I had my time again. I am a workaholic and forget to spend time on myself.

How do you unwind?
Walking and working in my garden is my daily way of unwinding. Traveling to remote places in the country, bird watching and reading books is another way I like to unwind.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Right now I am fascinated with the Himalayas. The mountains are humbling and yet provide such solace when I am there. I would like to explore the flora and fauna, the culture and traditions of this area more.

Everyone in business should read this book:
I am yet to find that book.

Shameless plug for your business:
I work with ‘real’ preservative free healthy food, if you are looking for ‘real’ food and wholesome options here I am.

How can people connect with you?
My mail id is [email protected] and I have a Facebook page called Healthy Living with Sangeeta Khanna where one can connect with me. Apart from that I write blogs and people come and comment to connect.
