Smart personal training. Sheena set up a personal training organisation out of a love for sports. She keeps it small and simple and uses Hong Kong’s outdoor spaces to keep overheads down. Find out more here…

What’s your story?
I started Fit in Hong Kong in 2008 after 19 years in aviation, out of a passion for sports. Personal training businesses at that time were pretty much run in studios and commercial gyms. We offer coaching at clients’ homes, clients’ residential gyms and Hong Kong’s extensive outdoor spaces.

What excites you most about your industry?
The personal training and fitness  industry is constantly evolving and moving fast.

What’s your connection to Asia?
I am based in Hong Kong and I periodically travel with clients.

Favourite city in Asia for business and why?
Currently Hong Kong is my favorite city to operate in as it is easy to set up business.

What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Make a lasting impression. People always remember how you make them feel.

Who inspires you?
People who are true to personal commitment and invest in self development.

What have you just learnt recently that blew you away?
What blew me away is how fast it is to get trainers certified. It only takes a few months! The market is flooded and right now in Hong Kong, there are way too many private studios with very few clients to cover the rental cost.

If you had your time again, what would you do differently?
I would have studied for a few years before getting certified. We have never owned a studio and so our operational costs are lower by being mobile.

How do you unwind?
Walking the beautiful Hong Kong country parks, reading and a weekly deep tissue massage.

Favourite Asian destination for relaxation? Why?
Australia if that is considered Asia: Like minded healthy conscious people and surroundings, from quality clean food to outdoor living.
