Since 1987, Treyce has been a world-renowned expert who has worked on high profile criminal cases to include testifying in court as an expert witness. She has also been an international law enforcement trainer, Criminal Minds consultant, a long-term forensic volunteer for Find Me, and has been interviewed by media outlets such as TruTV, CBS, ABC, Crime Watch Daily and more.

Treyce has been featured internationally on television and radio shows and, in addition to presenting to audiences across the world with John Asaraf, Bob Proctor, Natalie Ledwell, Bruce Lipton, and Sunny Dawn Johnston, she continues to speak across the world on topics such as: criminal mentality, intuition, trauma healing, spirituality, changing ones handwriting to change their lives, teaching cursive in schools, forensic handwriting analysis, and much more.

Treyce has a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and Criminology as well as a Doctorate in Eastern Psychology with field experience totaling over 30 years. As a result of healing herself from decades of bullying and severe, repeated trauma at the hands of loved ones, in 1987, she became the first person in world history to create a cognitive behavioral, evidence-based yet holistic / alternative mental health program which she calls “Handwriting Formation Therapy” (HFT).

Since it’s conception, HFT has not only helped thousands of private individuals, aged 7 – 99, across the world heal from past trauma, discover clarity or their life purpose, learn to forgive and let go of anger, fear of failure or self-doubt, repair relationships, improve grades, discontinue psychological medications, conquer addictions, end PTSD and other behavioral issues, and more, HFT alone has been 100% successful in completely stopping juvenile crime recidivism rates since 2006.

In addition to creating the HFT program, Treyce also opened Written Escape Clinics International in 1987 at the age of 22. Due to having many trained, certified, and licensed therapists working with her, she is able to travel while “helping heal the world one letter at a time”. When she is not traveling, she helps her husband in their successful financial planning business.

Finally, Treyce is the author of 21 books with her most recent being her autobiographical series: Raven & the Willow Tree.

In your own words what do you do?

I am skilled in the science of handwriting analysis and work with people to help them heal from trauma of all kinds by making conscious handwriting changes to empower the subconscious and superconscious. I also offer various handwriting-based training and forensic services worldwide.

What led you to your current business?

I grew up in the forensic handwriting industry and started learning at 11 years old. I knew by age 13 that I wanted to study criminals and, as such, have multiple degrees in forensic psychology and criminology. Handwriting has proved repeatedly to be a strong ally to the therapeutic and forensic sides. In 1988, I started teaching forensic handwriting classes to law enforcement, hiring managers, educators, and mental health professionals around the world.

Could you walk us through your process of developing your business?

The mentor I studied under for 11 years became seriously ill with cancer when I was 22 years old. As a surprise to me, he gave me his client list and had already introduced me to them prior to his passing. I literally walked into my business in the form of a mailing list. From there, I have had to go with the times and build it from the ground up. Because it was a passion and never felt like work, it was easy.

Did you encounter any particular difficulties in the beginning?

However, as a 22 year old female trying to break into a predominantly male field – that of law enforcement – I was not respected and doors were slammed in my face. So, in order to build my reputation and earn respect I offered to work all forensic cases for FREE for 5 year in exchange for a letter of recommendation. It worked.

What is your long term plan?

I have several:

(1) I would like the documentary created to represent my life story (which can be seen at www.TheRavenBook.com) as a way to inspire others. The book would serve to show that feeling like a victim is a choice but so is feeling like a survivor. My traumatic life started at age 3 and went for decades. I was bullied by peers and abused by family. I was such an angry teen that I had a hit list with full plans of getting even with everyone who hurt me. The statement that changed my life was one that my handwriting analysis mentor said to me when I was a teen. He said, “The best revenge is to become a success” and, after surviving 7 suicide attempts by the age of 17, it turned my life around and I became a success. Even though it is difficult to find hope in the darkest moments, it is possible.

(2) I would like to help end violence by traveling the world to provide powerful handwriting changes to end violence toward animals and other people. My Handwriting Formation Therapy (HFT) program has proven 100% successful in completely stopping juvenile crime recidivism rates since 2006 and I would like to take my program worldwide in a whole unique and powerful way. I am just unsure what that looks like at this time.

Could you share with us some industry insights?

The worse thing society has done is to remove handwriting curriculum from elementary education. Elementary ages are when we form empathy and, when we take away cursive or connected script writing, we remove the ability to form complete empathy. Instead we have a society full of cruel, uncaring, desensitized youth who grow up and become many of the residents inside of our prisons and jails. In addition, there are parts of the neurons in our brain that are not activated when we type or use electronics. Gurus have said we are “dummying down” society for future generations and, unless we bring back a healthy form of handwriting, I have to agree. As a researcher, there is a strong correlation between ending handwriting instruction in schools and the rise in crime rates and overall violence across the world. I have written a blog called “Handwriting is Much More Than Pen and Paper” which is full of scientific reasoning.

Additionally people all over the world who are in business are still feeling unfulfilled. They are feeling lost and directionless, stressed, and disempowered. Their signature represents their image to the outside world. If their signature represents them in a “negative” light, then their business, mental and even physical health can suffer. I design custom “Signatures for Success” and offer many more options to help people reset their life. While we can never erase our mistakes or experiences, we do not have to fall victim to these memories and let them continue sabotaging us into the future.

What are some important lessons you’ve learnt about entrepreneurship?

Go with the times. Yes, I feel technology has dummied us down as a society but it has also helped us tremendously. Ignoring technological advances does not help your business advance to the next level either.

Any tips for achieving success?

You have to be dedicated 100% to what you want. So many business owners jump around trying to develop a new program, product, or idea hoping to find the next item that will make them rich. It doesn’t work like that. What does work is to simply be grateful for the tiny baby steps as well as the greatest feats. Happiness comes first, money follows. Money does not create happiness but it does give you options.
